Bio

Nancy (Nannie) was the daughter of Jacob T. and Barbara (Pegram) Lewis and the first wife of Briggs Owen whom she married 7 July 1889 in Eastland Co., Tx. Nannie was the mother of Virginia, Verna and Talton Lee Owens and also of Baby Owens who died at birth and is interred alongside her in this cemetery. Nancy and her parents are buried in a small private family cemetery at the old Briggs Owen farm, near what was once the community of Lem Switch (located about 5 miles N.W. of the city of Eastland). Inscribed gravestones mark the site.
