Fort Bend Herald, June 22, 2018: Franklin Raymond Matocha, Sr., 83, currently of LaGrange, passed away on June 21, 2018. He was born on October 18, 1934 in Cistern, Texas to Joe and Genevieve (Janaeck) Matocha. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. This loving, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend will be missed. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Benjamin Matocha; sisters, Lena Bacak, Annie Tupa, Wilma Stryk, and Mary Trlicek; and brothers, Benno, J.C., and Charlie Matocha. Survivors include his children, Vincent Matocha and his wife, Mary, Franklin Matocha, Jr. and wife, Holli, and Angie Matocha; brother, Ted Matocha and wife, Evelyn; grandchildren, Greg, Nicholas, Philip, Rachel, Eylan, and Matthew Matocha, and Anna and Ben Stribling; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a rosary at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with Father William D. Bartniski officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery in Cistern, Texas. Franklin's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. For those wishing, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church (LaGrange) School Endowment Fund; Holy Rosary Catholic Church (Rosenberg) School Endowment Fund; or to the American Cancer Society.
