Bio

Fort Bend Herald, March 31, 2020: Angela "Angie" Marie Matocha, 54, of Sealy, formerly of La Grange, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020. Angie was born in Richmond, Texas on July 3, 1965, the daughter of Franklin Raymond Matocha, Sr. and Otillie Agnes (Chovanec) Matocha. She attended Texas A&M University, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism. Angie worked as a Flight Attendant for Delta Airlines for over thirty-one years, which allowed her the opportunity to travel the world. She was also an exceptional mother to her two children, Anna and Ben, that were her pride and joy. Angie had a heart of gold. She showed this especially through the love she had for animals. Her faithful dog companions, Mila, Petr, and Sidna, will miss her dearly. Some of her hobbies included caring for her garden; making arts and crafts; photography; dancing; along with her passion for traveling. Most of all, Angie enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Angie is survived by her children, Anna Stribling of New York, NY and Benjamin Stribling of La Grange, TX; mother, Otillie Matocha of La Grange, TX; two brothers, Franklin Matocha, Jr. and wife, Holli, of East Bernard, TX, and Vincent Matocha and wife, Mary, of La Grange, TX; special uncle, Benjamin "Uncle Bennie" Chovanec of La Grange, TX; five nephews, Greg, Dylan, Nicholas, Philip, and Matthew Matocha; one niece, Rachel Matocha; numerous cousins; along with her grandkittens, Milka and Joba; and a pet chicken, Dolly Parton. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Ben Matocha; and her grandparents, John and Frances Chovanec, and Joe and Genevieve Matocha. In an abundance of caution due to the recent health issues, and in accordance with the CDC and the local County Judge recommendations, the family has opted for a private family mass. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Iron Disorders Institute, P.O. Box 4891, Greenville, SC 29608; Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center, P.O. Box 6, La Grange, TX 78945; Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 548, La Grange, TX 78945; and Holy Rosary Catholic School, 1426 George St., Rosenberg, TX 77471. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig - Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com .
