Helen Norman, age 91, of Ramona, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Madison Regional Health System. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 3rd at St. William’s Catholic Church in Ramona with Father Chester Murtha as the Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Friday at Weiland Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM and a Rosary to follow. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery, Badus Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Ramona Fire Dept, PO Box 32, Ramona, SD 57054 or Madison Homecare & Hospice, 323 SW 10th St., Madison, SD 57042. Helen Catherine Cassutt was born June 21, 1926 on the family farm near Ramona, the daughter of Mathias & Marguerite (Mettler) Cassutt. She married Harold L. Norman of Ramona on November 20, 1943 at the naval base in Jacksonville, FL. In 1946, they returned to Ramona to farm & raise their family. They would spend their remaining years on the farm enjoying family with many gatherings. She was a longtime member of St. William’s Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and shopping. Traveling to many destinations was a highlight of their 73 years together with Helen as the pilot and Harold as the navigator. Helen is survived by her children, Connie (Ray) Gustafson of Sioux Falls, Robert (Nancy) Norman of Ramona, Carolyn (Jim) Fletchall of Oldham & Cathy (Tom) Courtney of Ocala, FL; daughter-in-law, Genia of Ramona; ten grandchildren & twenty five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Donna Brown, Barbara Kunovic & John Cassutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Ronald; one brother & four sisters. - Weiland Funeral Chapel
