Catherine C. Kraemer age 75 of Madison, South Dakota died Friday August 8, 2014 at the Madison Community Hospital. Catherine Cecilia Cassutt was born December 10, 1938 to Mathias and Marguerite (Metter) Cassutt at Ramona, South Dakota. She attended and graduated from Ramona High School in 1956. Catherine was united in marriage to Daryl Kraemer on November 17, 1956 at the St. William's Catholic Church in Ramona. From 1956 until 1978 she lived in Parker and Catherine worked as a clerk for the Turner County Treasurer. In 1978 they moved to the Ramona area until Daryl decided to retire, they then moved to Custer where both she and Daryl worked for the state of South Dakota at Custer State Park. After several years at the park she pursued other interests working at the Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City. She always enjoyed meeting new people and renewing many friendships with her customers. Later she worked at the Woodcarver Museum in Hill City. In 2010 they moved to Madison to be closer to their family. Catherine and Daryl enjoyed working in the beautiful backyard and gardening with friends. Catherine passed away after an 18 month battle with lung cancer. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Daryl of Madison her four children: Paula and Charles Jading of Humboldt; Bill and Nancy Kraemer, Larry and Cheri Kraemer all of Parker, David and Julie Kraemer, Maplewood, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great step-grandchildren; three sisters: Helen Norman, Barbara Kunovic, Donna Brown; two brothers: Tom and John Cassutt; Sisters-in-law: Madelyn Cotton and Helen Wenzlaff along with many nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Mathias and Marguerite Cassutt, Daryl's parents; Paul and Henrietta Kraemer, sisters: Francis Cassutt, Dorothy Whitethorn, Mary Slovak.
