Billie Jean Nicholas, 89 passed away Tuesday, January 9,2018. Billie Jean was born on August 10, 1928, to Ira and Bertha (Peel) Hester in Lohn, Tx. Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at the First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. She married the love of her life John Nicholas September 18, 1957 in Llano, they were married for 54 years before his passing in 2011. Billie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a great cook and was always giving a helping hand at the American Legion or Jim Bowie Trail ride, her church or anywhere else she was needed. She was always active in school activities, first for children and then for her grandchildren. She also loved to fish and dance and working in the yard. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Menard. Billie Jean is survived by 2 sons; Billy James Nicholas and wife Tracy of Menard and John Harold Nicholas of Eden, 3 daughters; Sally Hudson and husband Mike of Ranger, Texas, Mary Lou Kinsey and husband Orvil of Sterling City, Margaret Ann Shores of Abilene, and 1 daughter-in-law Donna McCartney of Merkel 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, 1 son Mike McCartney, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
