Obituary from Orem-Geneva Times (Orem, UT) - Thursday, August 9, 1979: Funeral services for Cree Clarence Kofford, 70, Orem, who died Thursday, August 2, 1979, will be Monday in the Walker Mortuary, Provo. Mr. Kofford was born December 17, 1908 in Provo, a son of Clarence Lewis and Nora Millett Kofford. He married Melba Nelson on November 25, 1931 in the Manti LDS Temple. Mr. Kofford was educated in Orem City Schools and lived in Orem most of his life. He worked in the construction industry and was employed by Butler Construction in Salt Lake City for some 20 years retiring in 1974. Mr. Kofford was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 1498 and served as financial secretary for one year. He also served as president of the Elko, Nevada Carpenters Union. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Cree-L Kofford, Arcadia, California; Jack C. Kofford and Dick Kofford, both of Orem; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Provo; five sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Martell (Beula) Keetch, Sandy; Ned Kofford, Mrs. Sam (Lyle) Crandall and Mrs. John (Lenore) Laudie, all of Orem; Verl Kofford, American Fork; Keith Kofford, Pleasant Grove; Rex Kofford, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. ReNae Chaffee, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Elmo (Nola) Christensen. Burial took place in the Orem City Cemetery.
