Maudie Coontz, 95, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, departed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, in Fort Worth. Maudie was born May 29, 1910, in Emory to James A. and Mary B. McLeod. She was preceded in death by her husband, Absalom "Abb" Coontz; three brothers; a sister; a half brother; and half sisters. Maudie resided at Shady Oaks Manor Apartments prior to a brief stay at West Side Campus of Care. She was a member of Northwest Baptist Church in Lake Worth and Eastern Star Chapter in Everman.
