"my mother, Katie Belle McLeod was married to R.D.Davis, having one daughter Shirley Ann Davis then married Jessie_Lee_Littlejohn having Sandra Sue, Jessie_Lee_jr. ,James Franklin, Mary Elizabeth, she then married Kenneth Hughes and had Patricia Kay. she was proceeded in death by her parents Mary Bell Caldwell and James Alexander McLeod and her infant son Jessie Jr. and her daughter Shirley Ann. she had 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. she also had 1 step daughter Kathy Hughes." Burial will follow at Aley-King Cemetery in Henderson County under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank. Mrs. Hughes died Sept. 7, 2002, in Athens. She was born July 28, 1925, in Emory to James and Mary Caldwell McLeod. Previously of Dallas, she had lived in Gun Barrel City since 1970. She was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Hughes of Gun Barrel City; son, James Littlejohn of New Braunfels; daughters, Sandra Gardner of Dublin, Mary Clark of Dallas and Patricia Whitley of Kemp; stepdaughter, Kathy Sanders of Bon Weir; sister, Maude Koontz of Fort worth; 13 grandchildren; five grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and other relatives.
