Bio
John E. Meyers, long-time resident of Albany, passed away last week in West Texas Medical Center, Abilene. He was 76, and had been in declining health the past year. Funeral was held in the First Baptist Church and burial was in the Albany Cemetery. Mr. Myer, a native of Hill Country, was born March 6, 1982. He came to Shackelford County when young, and was married to Quater N. Mackey of Throckmorton Dec. 9, 1917. Mr Myers farmed and ranched many years, and for several years was custodian and bus driver for the Albany Schools. Mr. and Mrs, Myers moved to Palestine five years ago to be near their son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Myers. They moved to Abilene last June to live. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
