W. E. Autrey Passes Away William Ellis Autrey, 77, resident of Shackelford county 50 years, died at 6:05 the (Thursday) morning in the Shackelford County memorial Hospital. He had been ill since 1951, when he suffered a stroke and heart attack. He became seriously ill November 13. Ffuneral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, at the Church of Christ, with the pastor, Dennis Kellogg, officiating. Burial will be in the Albany Cemetery under direction of Godfrey Funeral Home. Mr. Autrey was born April 8, 1888, in Hill Country, son of the late Ellis and Rebecca Brush autrey. He was married to Katie C. May, July 31, 1909 in whitney. Mr. and mrs. Autrey came to Shackelford County, Nov. 28, 1909, and resided in and around Albany since. Mr. Autrey had farmed, and was a pumper for F. L. Hooker and J.L. Douglas before he became ill. He was a member of the First Christian Church several years, and later united with the Church of Christ.
