Wilma Ocee Ott obituary, The Grand Island Independent, January 11, 2007, Grand Island, Nebraska as listed at www.theindependent.com URORA - Wilma Ocee O'Brien, 84, of Aurora died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Aurora. The Rev. Sam Fox will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Mrs. O'Brien was born Nov. 1, 1922, on a farm near Henderson to Wilhelm (Bill) and Elizabeth (Feuerstein) Ott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob O'Brien. Survivors of the immediate family include a son, William O'Brien of Aurora; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dixie and Paul Mooney of Ottumwa, Iowa and Christina Doyle of Aurora; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Leola Ott of Aurora; and two sisters, Evelyn Maw and DoLores Ellyett, both of Aurora. Also left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren, Larry Wilson Jr. of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Denise (Dave) Beyer of Oskaloosa, Chad Engert of Edina, Minn., and Rachel Tomasek; seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jack O'Brien of Aurora; an aunt, Hazel Rein of Aurora; and numerous nieces and nephews. She grew up in Henderson and attended country school. Wilma worked at the Ordinance Plant in Grand Island. Wilma was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) M. O'Brien on May 10, 1950, at Aurora. When Abbott's Dairy closed in 1982, Bob bought his route and equipment. Bob and Wilma went into business for themselves, running O'Brien Distributors. Bob passed away on April 27, 2004. Wilma was an active member of Aurora First Christian Church. She was a volunteer at the Plainsman Museum, where she was very involved in the genealogical research and giving tours. Wilma was also a volunteer at the hospital thrift shop and when her children were growing up, she was involved in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
