Bio

Hulda Sudberry, 83, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, in San Angelo Community Hospital. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, in Pioneer Memorial Park. Mrs. Sudberry was born Aug. 11, 1919, to Ike and Wilhelmina Musil. She moved to San Angelo at the age of sixteen, where she married Raymond McGinty in 1940. During the next ten years, she gave birth to six children. In the 1950s, Hulda attended and graduated top of her class of licensed vocational nursing training at Shannon Hospital. Hulda worked at Shannon and St. John’s Hospital until her retirement in 1982. She was married to George Stewart in 1971 until his death in 1976. Hulda was married to J.C. Sudberry of Abilene in 1981 until his death in 2000. She is survived by her children, Pat Derring and spouse, Tommy Broadway, Janice Logston, Judy Ward, Geri Howell, Cathy Lowery and spouse, Marshall Lowery, and Ray McGinty and spouse, Carol McGinty; a total of 18 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by two of her sisters, Alma Phillips and Edna Musil. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Lorfing; and twin sister, Hilda Jones. Schaffer Funeral Home
