Wife of Phil A Lorfing, married June 11, 1961 ROSE MUSIL LORFING Rose Musil Lorfing, 75, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, in Shannon Hospital. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Rowena Protestant Cemetery with Father Gallela Prasad of St. Josephs Catholic Church officiating. Mrs. Lorfing was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Rowena to Ike and Wilhelmina Musil. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School. In 1961, she married Phil Lorfing in San Angelo. They owned and operated the original Lowake Inn Steak House until 1979. She served as postmaster at Lowake and later at Rowena. Survivors include a son, Brd Anderson and friend, Rose Begil, and two daughters, Toni Smith and husband, Layne, and Teri Balentine and husband, Carey, all of San Angelo; a stepdaughter, Deanna Lackey and husband, Jerry, also of San Angelo; three sisters, Hulda Sudberry of San Angelo, Alma Phillips of Missouri and Edna Musil of Rockwall; four grandchildren, Ashley Lewallen and fiancé, Amy Heathcott, Shane Lewallen and wife, Misty, and Tiffany and Courtney Smith, all of San Angelo; a great-grandson, Johnathan Tyler Lewallen; four step-grandchildren, Melanie Gonzales, Angela Taylor, Maree Pennell and Lacy Lackey; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Bruce Anderson and her husband.
