Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in Belvedere Memorial Park with Father Maurice Voity of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Alma lived with her daughter in Blue Springs, Mo., since November 2002 and the previous 65 years in San Angelo. She was born on Aug. 8, 1917, in Westphalia, Texas, to Ignatz "Ike" and Minnie Robroker Musil. Alma was 4 years old when her family moved to Rowena. She lived there until she was 16 years old, completing all her schooling at the St. Joseph Parish School, and then moving to San Angelo. In 1943, she married Z.J. "Red" Phillips and her time was spent raising two children and being a housewife. In the late fifties, after her husband passed away, she managed the Northside Laundry. In the late sixties, until her retirement, she worked at Baptist Memorials Center. Those were the happiest years of her working life, where she supervised the housekeeping and laundry department. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering with friends and fellow members of the Concho Pearls Lions Club Meals for the Elderly and the Lighthouse for the Blind. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Z.J. "Red" Phillips; one stepson; two stepdaughters; and four sisters, Hilda Jones, Hulda Sudberry, Rose Lorfing and Edna Musil. Survivors are her daughter, Donna Naler and husband Craig of Blue Springs, Mo.; son James T. Phillips of San Angelo; two grandsons, Michael Phillips and wife Stacy of San Angelo and Adam Naler of Blue Springs, Mo.; and two granddaughters, Erin Naler of Greenville, S.C., and Freyja Phillips Naler of Blue Springs, Mo.; her very much loved great-grandsons, Kirkland, Zachary and Trey Phillips of San Angelo; stepdaughter Ruby Ewing and family of Hemet, Calif.; and nine nieces and two nephews.
