Bio
Catherine Rose McGinty Lowry was born to Walter Raymond and Hulda Musil McGinty on April 7, 1947, in San Angelo, Texas. She met Marshall George Lowry and they married in Mexico on Jan. 24, 1966, after a whirlwind romance. Together they had four daughters, Nickie Gotschall, Cathy Carr (husband Todd Carr), Linda Harvell and Marsha Hughes. Between the girls, they gave them 10 grandchildren. The grandchildren gave them 10 great-grandchildren. Cathy was a great support system for the family. She worked at Ethicon, SAISD cafeteria, childcare, managed rental property and was later at Newsfoto. She was the district leader of the Girl Scouts council at one time. She was always a rock for her friends and family. If you were in need, Cathy was there, to tell you the good, bad or ugly, flat out. She would give the shirt off her back, if you needed it. Cathy lived life to the fullest, giving all and loving all. Cathy was also a great caregiver from the first days of her marriage. She married into an instant family with two young brothers-in-law, who she loved dearly. She had experience from her twin brother and sister, helping to raise them after their mother died. So many people depended on Cathy. She took in Grandmother McGinty, Grandmother Crawford, Aunt Sally, Aunt Clara and her daddy, Raymond. She loved and cared for them better than anyone. Cathy loved arts & crafts, refurbishing furniture, sewing and enjoyed loving her grand babies and great grand babies. Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall; and her mother and father. She will be so sorely missed by her daughters; grandchildren Mike Gotschall and wife Sarah, Brittany and husband Michael Heimbecker, Alexandria and husband Cameron Sykes, Desiree and husband Ray Reyes, Christin and Tanner Carr, Marshall and Blair Tomlinson, Lydia Collins and Ty Hughes; her brothers-in-law, Winston Lowry and wife Brenda, John Lowry and wife Vicki; 11 brothers and sisters; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins,nieces and nephews.
