SERSHEN'S LONG ILLNESS Well Known Ord Woman Passes Away Tuesday; Funeral Will Be Held Tomorrow After months of suffering Mrs. John Sershen passed away at her home in Ord Tuesday evening. She had been ill since last February, when an exploratory operation at St. Francis hospital, Grand Island, proved unsuccessful in removing the cause of her trouble. She had been an invalid since that time. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church at 2:30 pm Friday, with Rev. Paul Hillman, pastor of the Trinity Methodist church, Grand Island in charge. Martha Ann Dunckley was born in Victor, Kas., on July 17, 1873 and departed from this life on October 16, at the age of 55 years 3 months. Her parents, George Dunckley and Grace Finley Dunckley came here from England settling in Kansas. They lived on a farm until 1889, then moved to Dillen, Colo. The mother passed away shortly after going to Colorado. On Oct. 22, 1902 she was married to John Sershen at Longmont, Colo. In the fall of 1904 they moved to Ord. To them were born two daughter, Elfreda Maudeline, aged 23 and Ella Mae, aged 18. Martha Ann Sershen was a member of the Congregational church until she united with the Methodist church of Ord in 1925. Besides her husband and children she leaves a sister, Mrs. A.W. Brooks of Livingston, Mont., and ten brothers, John, Charles, Thomas, Nelson, Robert, George, Walter, and Edward Dunckley all of Dunkley, Colo, Rolland Dunckley of Asherville, Kas., and William Dunckley of Hunter, Kas.
