Whitney Messenger Friday March 3, 1903 J. H. Shelley has received the intelligence of the death of his father, T. P. Shelley, which occurred at Siloam Springs, Ark., on March 5, the cause being an affection of of the Kidneys. Mr. Shelley left this section on the 3rd of January for his late home, he having lived here a part of two years. He was an honorable old citizen and made many friends here, all of whom will regret to learn of his death and who will extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives. Deceased was 76 years old and is survived by a wife and twelve children - eight sons and 4 daughters, viz., J. H. Shelley, of near Whitney; J. W., Z. W., T. R. and A. J. Shelley of Fort Graham; J. M. Shelley of Jacksonville, Tex.; A. G., A. B., Henrietta and Lula Shelley, and Mrs. Sam Wood of Siloam Springs, Ark.; Mrs. Betty Sooter of Gravitt, Ark.
