Bio

Charles Marion Ray was the son of Robert Cicero Ray and Darcus Elizabeth (Lizzie) Thompson. He married Mary Elvira Deason (daughter of Edward Adelbert Deason & Nancy Arizona Burton) January 31, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Nueces Co., Texas. They had 3 children, Norma, Charles, and James. Charles M. Ray, 69, of 3401 South Alameda, died Wednesday in Austin, Texas. He was born on June 27, 1912 in Stevensville, Texas and he was a retired civil service employee from the Corpus Christi Army Depot. He was a member of the Oso Naval Masonic Lodge No. 1282 and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite, a member of the Retiree Trailer Club and the South Texas Silver Streak. He was also a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ray of Corpus Christi; one daughter, Mrs. Norma Jean Jennings of Austin; two sons, Jeffrey Ray of Corpus Christi and James R. Ray of Germany; one sister, Pearl Mitchell of California; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Seaside Chapel with Rev. George Pledger, officiating. Interment will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
