Mary was the daughter of Edward Adelbert (AD) Deadson and Nancy Arizona "Zona" Burton. She married Charles Marion Ray (son of Deason. She married Charles Marion Ray (son of Robert Cicero Ray and Darcus Elizabeth (Lizzie) Thompson) 31 January 1936. They had three children: Norma, Charles Jeffrey and James.
