Husband of Willie "Billie" Viola Nation. Father of Herbert Lowell Moon, Sr., Jerry Alton Moon, Sr., and Linda Lee Moon Redfearn Delgado Reese. Grandfather of: Herbert Lowell Moon, Jr., Kimberly Joyce Moon, Patricia Layne Moon, Marcia Jeanean Moon, children of Herbert Lowell Moon, Sr. and Joyce Mize Grandfather of: Tommy Dalton Moon, Jerry Alton Moon, Jr. Children of Jerry Alton Moon Sr. and Camilla Faith Kelley Moon. Grandfather of: Todd Redfearn and Timothy Redfearn, children of Linda Lee Moon Redfearn Delgado Reese and Ronnie Redfearn. He was murdered and thrown off a train in Abilene, TX. He remained unidentified until someone saw an article in the Abilene newspaper. Since he had been missing and the family was searching for him and knew that he was on a train from west Texas that would be passing through Abilene, a family member went to identify the body and have him brought home to Smith County for burial. Family lore states that he was robbed, thrown from the train, the train severed his arm and he bled to death.
