Mrs. Carolyn Childress White August 28, 1931 - March 3, 2016 Carolyn Childress White, age 84, a native of Loxley, AL and resident of Robertsdale, AL passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016. Mrs. White was an active member of the Robertsdale Church of Christ. She loved to travel with her husband, Mitchell, as they were members of travel clubs in Fairhope and Foley. She is preceded in death by her son, Barney Thomas Hobbs, Sr. and step son, Eric Bradley White and all eleven of her siblings: Ruth Childress Gray, Paul Childress, Mary Childress Brock, Calvin Childress, Rube Childress, A.D. Childress, Ted Childress, Robert “Bob” Childress, Sue Childress Amason, Carl “Shorty” Childress and Pearl Childress Burroughs. She is survived by her husband, Mitchell White of Robertsdale, AL; two daughters, Dovie Hobbs (Alan) Bohnhoff of Marietta, GA, Macy Hobbs (Dana) Wilcox of Rosinton, AL; three step sons, Mark Edward (Cathy) White of Opelika, AL, Michael (Peggy) White of Vincent, AL, Louis M. “Mickey” White, Jr. of Panama City, FL, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held from Robertsdale Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church Saturday, March 5, 2016. Burial will be in the New Cooper Cemetery, Robertsdale, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robertsdale Church of Christ Building Fund, P O Box 413, Robertsdale, AL 36567.
