William D. (Dub) Hobbs September 17, 1927 – December 25, 2012 William D. "Dub" Hobbs, Jr., age 85, passed away Tuesday, Dec., 25, 2012. Mr. Hobbs was a proud native of Rosinton, a former resident of Gulf Shores and currently lived in Rosinton, AL. He was a member of the Robertsdale Church of Christ and former councilman for the City of Gulf Shores in the 1970's. Mr. Hobbs loved to entertain by singing and playing the piano and enjoyed shrimping and fishing in the lagoon. He was a farmer and had a love for gardening and growing all types of citrus. Mr. Hobbs had a very successful career in selling insurance and real estate. He was preceded in death by his parents, William D. Hobbs, Sr. and Grace Cooper Hobbs, 2 brothers, Grover Hobbs and Tom Hobbs, sister, Emma O'Connell and son, Barney Thomas Hobbs. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette R. Hobbs of Rosinton, AL, 2 daughters, Dovie Hobbs (Alan) Bohnhoff of Marietta, GA and Macy Hobbs (Dana) Wilcox of Rosinton, AL, step son, Lance (Heather) Long of Atlanta, GA, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Robertsdale Church of Christ with burial in the Old Cooper Cemetery, Rosinton, AL. A visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robertsdale Church of Christ Building Fund, P. Box 413, Robertsdale, AL 36567 or the American Cancer Society, 19059 S. Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL 36532. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, Hwy. 59 Robertsdale, AL.
