Bio
Mary was the daughter of John Wesley Henderson 1846-1905 and Lucinda Jane Payne 1852-1932. Siblings: Millie Elizabeth Henderson-Wiggins-Merriman, Rebecca J Henderson-Lyman, Columbus Wesley Hendreson, George Dallas Henderson, William Henry Henderson, Mandy Henderson-Friend, Charles Lihu Hendrson, Ida Mae Henderson-Pellham-Smith and James R Henderson. Half siblings by John Wesley Henderson and Polly Ann Smith; Nathaniel Henderson, Thomas Gilson Henderson and Sarah Ann Francis Henderson-Wiggins. Mary Ellen Henderson married Andrew Jackson Fugate at Dugginsville, Missouri on 6 Jun 1897 at the home of her parents. Jack and Mary had four children: George Dewey Fugate 1898-1953, Mollie Fugate-Stuck 1901-1972, Lue Cindy Fugate-Fisher 1904-1947 and Eabe Fugate 1908-1974. Mary's husband Jack was shot and killed in Aug 1908, (because his dog had run after the neighbor's cattle) after that senseless murder … Mary never remarried, she raised her children alone and helped with her grand children until her death at Coweta, OK. Mary was known as mummy by her grandchildren and before she died had requested to be buried by her sister Rebecca Henderson Lyman at Bixby, Oklahoma.
