Funeral services for Thomas Gilson Henderson, 78, who died Wednesday night in the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. M. Smith in Bartlesville, Okla, were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wedingtion church, with Rev. H. D. Pieratt officiating, Burial was in the Wedington cemetery under the direction of Pyeatte's Funeral Service. Mr. Henderson who has been in failing health for the past 10 months, had been visiting his daughter since last November. A retired farmer, he was born February 15, 1871 in Fulton County, Arkansas. He was reared in Ozark County, Mo., and in January 1890, married Ida Mae Atkins. About 20 years of his life was spent in the vicinity of Siloam Springs. Survivors are his wife; another daughter, Mrs. Emery Hunton, Tulsa; two sons, A.Z. Henderson, Tulsa, and A. H. Henderson, McMinnville, Ore.; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. NOTE: Per all legal documents, Census and other records, we have seen, Thomas year of birth would of been 2-15-1870. He had a full blood sister who was born 1-30-1871. Per information from Joe Todd on 4-13-2015 : The Arnold Moore Funeral Record states Mr. Henderson was visiting his daughter, Mrs. J . M. Smith in Bartlesville when he died of acute congestive heart failure . The body was prepared for burial by the Arnold Moore Funeral Home and sent to the Pyeatte Funeral Home in Weddington, AR for burial. Thank you Mr. Todd for the information!
