Charley is the son of John Wesley Henderson and Lucinda Jane (Payne) Henderson, and Grandson of Christopher Christian Henderson and Emelia "Millie" (Parton)Henderson. He was raised it the Ozark Hills in Ozark and Taney Co. Missouri, And Marion and Boone Counties of Arkansas. He married Edith M.
