Bio

Bell was born in Texas in September of 1861, the daughter of W.R. & Drucilla Carter Beauchamp. On July 2, 1876, two months prior to her 15th birthday, she married John Wesley Harding in Montgomery County, Texas. They had three known children, Samuel Houston, Claude Alonzo, and Montie Lee. Bell and John divorced and in 1897, she married Robert Lee Meek, a school teacher who later became a doctor. Between 1900 and 1910 the Meeks moved to Arkansas. Two Harding sons, Samuel Houston and Claude Alonzo, also moved to Arkansas. The Meeks had no children together. Robert Meek was ten years younger than Bell. After their marriage Bell claimed to be younger than she actually was while Robert claimed to be older than he was. Bell was my 2nd great grandmother.
