Bio

John Wesley Harding, age 80, died in Houston, Texas on January 14, 1932. His death certificate erroneously indicates burial in Tomball, Harris County, Texas. John Wesly is buried beside his brother, Samuel Slocum, and Samuel's wife, Nancy E. Jerrel Harding, in Oklahoma Cemetery, Montgomery County, near Magnolia, Texas. He was born in Northmoreland, Luzerne, Pennsylvania on March 21, 1851, the son of John Wiley Harding and Harriet Carey. He and Addie Bell Beauchamp were married July 2, 1876 in Montgomery County, Texas. They had three children, Claude Alonzo, Sam Houston, and Montie Lee before they divorced. His granddaughter, Blanch Harding, told me he was a photographer and that is his occupation given on the 1910 Harris County, Texas Census.
