The Cashmere Valley Record Cashmere, Washington · Thursday, October 19, 1939 The community was shocked at the sudden death of Edwin Phillips Friday evening. Funeral services were held in the Congregational church Sunday afternoon. J. L. Coppock preached the sermon. Mrs.!Fred Miller sang "Abide With Me" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" with Mrs. Springer accompanying her. Mr. Phillips was one of Peshastin's pioneers, having lived here 35 years and has made many friends. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Bertha, one daughter, Mrs. John Enderst of Cashmere, a stepdaughter, Mrs. A. Benedict of Peshastin and a step-son Howard Foster also of Peshastin and a number of grandchildren.
