Bio
Myrtle was the daughter of Charles H. Phillips and Jane (Jennie) King, Hand county, South Dakota pioneers from Clinton county, IA. Her mother died in 1884 and Myrtle grew to womanhood in Iowa, returning to SD in 1912. Myrtle married Nehemiah Carl in Iowa in 1887. They were the parents of several children. Nehemiah passed away in 1918. Two short lived marriages followed- both taking place in Sioux Falls and ending in divorce. On Mar. 7, 1925 in Vermillion, Clay, SD Myrtle wed Ole S. Olson. They lived several years in Turner county. By 1940 Ole was in his eighties, he lived his last years with his son's family in Clay county and in a nursing home. Myrtle died at the home of Miss Lena Bakken near Baltic, SD.
