m: Harvey W Foster 30 Apr 1890 in Red Bluff, Madison Co, MT m: Edwin Phillips 9 Jun 1908 in Chelan Co, WA The Cashmere Valley Record Cashmere, Washington · Thursday, July 20, 1950 Mrs. Phillips Dies At Cashmere Home Mrs. Bertha Phillips pioneer resident of the Cashmere-Dryden area died of a heart attack at her home in Cashmere Tuesday afternoon. She was 81 years of age. Mrs. Phillips was born January 18, 1869 at Webster City, Iowa. She received her education there and after graduating from high school went to Miller, South Dakota to teach. Later she moved to Montana where she taught school. She married Harvey Foster in 1889 at Bozeman, Montana. They made their home in Montana until Mr. Foster died in 1908. In 1908 she came to the Wenatchee valley with her three children settling at Cashmere. On June 9, 1908 she married Edwin S. Phillips and they moved to ranch near Dryden where she lived until 1911 when she moved to Cashmere. Mrs. Phillips is a member of the Cashmere Methodist church. Surviving are one son, Howard Foster, Dryden, two daughters, Mrs. Angelo Benedict and Mrs. John Andrist, Cashmere, 12 grandchildren and six grant-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Allen Dye, Seattle, Mrs. Artie Greeves, Everett, one brother, Albln Gilbert of Cashmere. The Kuelbs and Braun funeral home is in charge of arrangements with services at the Methodist church Saturday at 2 pm. Rev. Chester Finkbeiner will officiate and burial will be in the Cashmere Cemetery. Washington Death Certificate Name Bertha M.
