Mrs. Hancock Sweetwater - Funeral for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Hancock, 80, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond Dunn, pastor of the Fundamental Baptist Church, and the Rev. Wayne Brown, Abilene Baptist minister officiating. Burial will be in the Sweetwater Cemetery with McCoy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hancock died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Simmons Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 3, 1890 in Scottsboro, Ala. She married Joe Ed Hancock July 4, 1909 in DeKalb. Mrs. Hancock had lived in Sweetwater since 1932. Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Velma Woodard, Mrs. Grace Cavit, Mrs. Irene Gill, Mrs. Emma Cooper, all of Sweetwater, Mrs. Jo Land and Mrs. Ethel Mayhew, both of Hico, Mrs. Clara Hale of Andrews, and Mrs. Bonnie Cross of Snyder; one son, Grady, of Sweetwater; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Cox, Mrs. Alice Burgess, Mrs. Jose Clayton, all of DeKalb, and Mrs. Lyda Tallent of Lubbock; one brother, Henry Cook of Section, Ala.; twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
