Services for Lida Talent, 88, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today at Broadview Baptist Church with Truman Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. She died Thursday, April 4, 2002. She was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Bowie County and married Clarence Earl Talent on Jan. 1, 1933, in Texarkana. He died Dec. 31, 1981. She attended school in DeKalb. She moved to Lubbock from East Texas in 1962 and worked for St. John's United Methodist Church. She moved to Paris, Texas, and back to Lubbock in 1970. She later worked as an aide and as a foster grandmother for the Lubbock State School for several years. She was a member of Flint Avenue Baptist Church. A son, Charles Dale, died in 1971. Survivors include three sons, Ed and Leo, both of Watauga, and Leon of Austin; three daughters, LaJoy Follis and Doris Nutt, both of Lubbock, and Gladys Cox of Chico; a sister, Mary Cox of New Boston; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
