Mrs. Lily Blanche McMillen Kersh, 87, of Fayetteville, dide Friday at Bethesda Healthcare Facility in Eastover, NC. Mrs. Kersh, born in Liberty, Texas, was the daughter of the late Dewey Alexander McMillen, Sr. and Blanche Jannise McMillen and the widow of Fred Kersh, Jr. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Alexander McMillen, Jr. and a sister, Martha Jeanna Schroeder. She worked for Cleland Multipurpose Skating Complex in Fort Bragg, NC for 33 years. She is survived by her children, Rosa Jowers and husband Buddy, Louisa Feeley and husband Jeff, Fred Kersh and wife Jennifer, and Douglas Kersh; siblings, John Andrew McMillen, Mary Helena Denker, Francis Charles McMillem, Jacques James McMillen, Bertha Evelina Theriot, Josephine Elizabeth Smesney, and Joseph Augustine McMillen, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. There was no local services The Butler Funeral Home in Stedman handled the local arrangements. A funeral mass was held at 11am, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty, Texas. Burial was made in the Church Cemetery. The Carter Funeral Home of Houston, Texas handled the arrangement in Texas.
