Norbert Frank Wieser, the son of Henry and Emma (Kopetzky) Wieser, was born at Humphrey, Nebraska, on February 16, 1921, and died at the Nebraska Veteran's Hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska, on March 9, 1995, at the age of 74 years, 1 month, and 23 days. He grew up at Humphrey, attended St. Mary's Parochial School, and worked on the family farm, until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served his country during World War 2, from November 11, 1942, until his discharge on November 11, 1945. On January 18, 1945, he was united in marriage to Wildrena Helms at St. Mary's the Angels Catholic Church at Humphrey, Nebraska. After their marriage they lived in Grand Island, and he worked for Chic Byrnes and Moslander Distributing Company. At one time he owned a business in Columbus and Madison, then returned to Grand Island. In 1976 they moved to Aurora where he was employed by the Aurora Tile Company, until he semi-retired in 1986, and owned and operated the Aurora Coin-Op Laundromat. Norbert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and belonged to the Aurora American Legion and V.F.W. Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold and a son Jim in 1969. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Wildrena of Aurora; 3 daughters, Janet Dymek and her husband Dan, of Grand Island, Marti Bankson and her husband Randy, of Hordville, and Mary Cuevas and her husband Lee, of Aurora, Colorado; 5 brothers, Eugene, James, Luke, and Erwin all of Columbus, and Arnold of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister Henrietta Zach of Columbus; and 8 grandchildren.
