AURORA - Wildrena "Willie" Wieser, 87, of Aurora was called to her eternal home on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, 68 years to the day after Willie was united in marriage to Norbert "Nub" Wieser in Humphrey. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. The Rev. Dennis Hunt will officiate. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Grand Island. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora, with the Rosary at 7 p.m. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Wildrena "Willie" Jessie Wieser, the daughter of Milton and Rosemund Helms, was born on March 5, 1925, in the Flint Hills of Kansas and passed away in Aurora on Jan. 18, 2013, at the age of 87. Willie grew up in the states of Texas, Iowa and California before moving back to Columbus, where she met and married her husband, Norbert Wieser, on Jan. 18, 1945. The couple lived in Columbus, Madison and Grand Island before finally moving in 1976 to Aurora, where she worked at Redman Shoe and then later owned and operated the Coin-Op Laundromat until she retired. Willie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary Club. Wildrena was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; one son, Jim; one grandson, Jay; two brothers and one sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jon Gergen, and wife, Eileen Gergen, of Plano, Texas; three daughters, Janet Dymek and husband, Dan, of Grand Island, Marti Bankson and Tom Gallentine of Aurora and Mary Cuevas and her husband, Lee, of Centennial, Colo.; two sisters, Theany McAfee of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Edith O'Kaeefe of Trenton, N.J.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
