Bio

James immigrated with his parents to the U.S. when he was two years old. They first located in Omaha, NE then in 1885, moved to Valley county, NE and in 1892 settled on a homestead near Butte, Nebr. In 1904, James took a homestead north of Gregory, SD. He remained on the homestead until his passing. In 1905, James married Barbara Jerman. They had four children, James, Frank, Bessie and Anton. James died at the Burke, SD hospital from a heart ailment and a kidney disorder that were a complication of his diabetes.
