Bio

Bessie grew up on the family farm north of Gregory, SD. She married William Vomacka on 24 Nov 1936 in Gregory county. They farmed in Gregory county until moving to Winner, SD in 1956. Bessie worked as a cook at the Catholic school there. In 1963, they moved to Monrovia, CA. Bessie and William worked at the military academy, Bessie was a cook there. After the death of her husband, Bessie remained in Monrovia, CA where her son also lived. In 1992, after her son passed away, she returned to Gregory to live near her daughter. William and Bessie had children: Elsie Mae (Mrs. Dale Severin, died 31 Oct 1966, buried Winner, SD), Edward William (died 1990 buried Monrovia, CA), Ivan and Ellen.
