Bio

Vonceal Mathis Wallace, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at a local care center. Vonceal, one of five children, was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Seminole to William Ramon and Margaret Ann Eason Mathis. She was baptized at Sycamore Baptist Church at a young age. Vonceal graduated from Era High School. She met and later married the love of her life, Robert James "R. J." Wallace Sr., on Feb. 1, 1946, at her parents home in Leo. They lived in Reno, Haltom City and Breckenridge before settling in Weatherford in 1996. After settling in Weatherford, Vonceal was a housewife, seamstress and Sunday school teacher and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.J. Wallace; brother, Jack Mathis; and sisters, Wave Belknap and Allie Belle Florida. Survivors: Children, Robert Wallace Jr. and wife, Jan, of Weatherford, Patsy Reimers and husband, Gene, of Arizona, Paul Wallace and wife, Maria, of Haltom City and Neal Wallace and wife, Toni, of Alabama; grandchildren, Karen Paulman and husband, John, Brenda Allbritton, Brian Swink and wife, Danielle, April Gordon and husband, Nolan, and Jonathan Wallace; great-grandchildren, Meghan, Jared, Cody, Katie, Natalie, Amelia, Hunter, Danica, Rylan, Kailea and Maelle; sister, Auga Lee East and husband, James; and many sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
