The funeral of Mrs. Christopher E. Hinkle was held at the home on Tuesday morning, August 7th, in charge of Rev. William H. Penn, pastor of the Barron Methodist Episcopal church. Mr. Hinkle and daughter, Mrs. George Barthman of Bozeman, Montana, accompanied the remains to Albion, Nebraska, where she was laid at rest beside her mother and father. Luella Chapman was born August 8, 1870, at Waverly, Ohio, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman. At the age of fourteen she moved with her parents to Albion, Nebraska, where she was married on November 15th, 1892, to Christopher E. Hinkle. To this union were born three children, Jesse Raymond, Grace Marie and Louis Ellsworth, the first named of whom gave his life in his country's cause. In 1907 the family moved to South Dakota, and from there came to Barron in 1913. Mrs. Hinkle had many friends and was active in church work in her neighborhood. She was a loyal helpmate, an affectionate mother, a helpful neighbor and a generous friend, and she will be greatly missed. Besides her husband, and son and daughter, she leaves her two sisters, Mrs. F. S. Buchanan, of Albion, Nebraska, and Mrs. William Clipston, of Loup City, Nebraska.
