LOUISVILLE — Mary Louise Dickson, 97, of Louisville, formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Louisville Care Center. Private graveside services will be Friday at Grand Island City Cemetery in Grand Island. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mary was born Nov. 19, 1917, to Christian and Anna Marie “Mary” (Joehnck) Bruhn in Grand Island. She was united in marriage to Charles Claude Dickson on July 26, 1938, in Hall County. Mary was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Shirley Stockton of Westwood, Kan., Barbara Young of Papillion, Rebecca and Larry Weak of Springfield; son, David Dickson of Rapid City, S.D.; sister, Gayle Schwieger of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Jessie Bruhn of Lexington; half brother, Donald Bruhn of Ariz.; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Claude Dickson; son, Charles Richard Dickson; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild; four brothers and four sisters.
