Bio
Bernell Allen Buchanan, born September 14, 1929 in Teasdale, passed away on May 19, 2015 in Riverton. He married Barbee White on October 17, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Idaho LDS Temple. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all. He was absolutely adored by his family. He was the twelfth child of George Franklin Buchanan and Louisa Jane Allen. His parents and siblings preceded him in death except for his brother, Hayle, who survives him. His wife, Barbee White, and his children survive him: Kristine (Steven Brey), Jeffrey (Becky) Buchanan, Janet (Jeff) Sharp, LaRae Dohnal, Beverly Buchanan (Lori Darrington), Shawn (Kim) Buchanan. He has twenty-six grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren with five more on the way. He was a faithful, committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in every way. He is finally free of his suffering and our family has witnessed many miracles on his behalf. Because of these miracles, he has remained the patriarch of our family far longer than seemed medically possible. We know he has gone on to a great reward. In spite of his suffering, he kept his sense of humor to the end. He will be so very missed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the Midvale First Ward Chapel, 308 West 7500 South. Viewings will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
