The Oregonian Portland, Oregon Friday, 26 April 1996 PEARL T. COOK Pearl T. Cook, a former kitchen worker in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland, died April 23, 1996. She was 97. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, in Park Hills Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash. Mrs. Cook was born Oct. 4, 1898, in Ord, Neb., where she was reared and educated. Her maiden name was Thomsen. She married Grover Claude in 1920. They moved to Vancouver in 1933. He died in 1950. She lived Hillsboro and Forest Grove before moving to a Portland care home in 1993. She also worked for Bird's Eye Cannery and Green's Variety store, both in Vancouver. She was a member of the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her son, Robert R. of Forest Grove; brother, Harvey Thomsen of Ord; sister, Elvina Van Slyke of Scotia, Neb.; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family suggests remembrances to the American Heart Association, Oregon Affiliate, or to the American Cancer Society in Portland. Arrangements are by Fuiten-Rose Chapel in Forest Grove.
