Sunday Services For Chris Thomsen Sunday services were held at the Hastings-Pearson chapel for Chris Thomsen, 94, longtime Valley County resident who died at his farm home Thursday morning. Mr. Thomsen was born Jan. 22, 1870, in Norre Nebel, Denmark, the son of Jens and Ane Christensen Thomsen. When he was 20, he and his brother, Tom, left Denmark and came to Fremont. He married Emma Hansen there on April 2, 1895, coming here to settle in the Springdale community in March of 1898. Mr. Thomsen farmed and fed livestock extensively, shipping cattle to Omaha for over 50 years. He was precinct assessor at Springdale, a member of the school board for many years, and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife and one son, Harvey of Ord; four daughters, Anne Thomsen of Ord, Mrs. Pearl Cook of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Elvina Collins of Central City and Mrs. Amy Hansen of Fremont; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
