Bio

Vivalee was born April 12, 1928, in Coon Rapids, IA, the daughter of Anthony and Christina (Tiefenthaler) Pittman. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and a faithful member. She attended country school and graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1945. Vivalee continued her studies at Buena Vista College and taught country school. Vivalee was united in marriage to Edward F. Pickhinke at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake, IA, on September 7, 1948. They were blessed with four children: Eveleen, Marlene, Wayne, and Charlene. Vivalee was a loving housewife and homemaker. Survivors include her children: Eveleen Sievers and husband Steve of Sioux City, IA, Marlene Bittner and husband Barry of Storm Lake, Wayne Pickhinke and wife Karen of Early, IA, and Charlene Pickhinke of Bryan, TX; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Kaye) Bittner of New Sharon, IA, Michael (Alicia) Bittner of Omaha, Ne, Kevin (Katie) Sievers of Sioux City, IA, Rachel (Jon) Zinanti of Golden, CO, Camille Pickhinke of Atchison, KS, and Weston Pickhinke of St. Meinrad, IN; great-grandchildren: Kylie Sievers of Sioux City, IA and Harrison Zinanti of Golden, CO; step great-grandchildren: Chloe and Chance of New Sharon, IA; brother Virtus Pittman of Wall Lake, IA; many extended family members and friends. Vivalee was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward January 16, 2012; sister and brother-in-law, Valaria and Melvin Meister; brothers: Virgil, Verial and Verlin; and sister-in-law Betty Pittman.
