Dr. Roland B. Morrison, Carroll County medical examiner, ruled that death occurred from natural causes about 9 p.m. May 22. Requiem mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Richard Macke at 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Angels Church, Roselle, of which Mr. Pittman was a member. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, where friends may start calling at 7 p.m. Mr. Pittman, a son of Bernard [Henry] and Anna Pittman. was born Jan. 10, 1901, at Roselle and spent his early childhood there. Later he moved with his father to Breda, and as a young man moved to South Dakota. His marriage to Christina Tiefenthaler took place at St. Bernard's Church in Breda on Feb. 16, 1920. Surviving are his wife, of Wall Lake; five children including Virgil, Mrs. Melvin (Valaria) Meister, Vertus and Verlin, all of Wall Lake and Mrs. Edward (Vivalee) Pickhinke of Early; and six grandchildren. Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by a son, Verle; a sister, Mrs. Conrad Tiefenthaler; and an infant brother.
