Bill S. Smith, 78, a rancher, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, in Lipan. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Lipan. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: charity of choice. Bill Smith was born June 17, 1926, in Lipan to Lawrence and Eloyse Howell Smith. He was a World War II Navy veteran and had lived in the Lipan area most of his life. He married Grace Burnett Nov. 26, 1960, in Dallas. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Smith. Survivors: Wife, Grace Smith of Lipan; sons and wives, David and Laura Smith of Granbury, Mark Smith of Lipan and Paul and Sheila Smith of Weatherford; daughter, Mary Smith Dewey and husband, Ron of Dallas; grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Matthew Grayson, Amanda Smith, Mallory Smith and Stephanie Copenbarger; and great-grandchildren, Westen, Katie, Hayden and Jacob.
