Marie Piscacek Hegar, 87, of Waco, passed away on April 25, 2006. Burial will be at West Brethren Cemetery in West. Marie was born in West, Texas, to the late Innocent and Magdalena (Jurica) Piscacek. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and West High School. On July 30, 1942, she was united in marriage to Emil R. Hegar in Temple. They raised their family and farmed together until retiring in 1990. Marie was a homemaker and loved cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and gardening. Marie was a longtime member of the West Brethren Church where she was active in the Christian Sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Emil, on March 22, 1995; an infant daughter, Irene Hegar; brothers, Hubert and Innie Piscacek; and sisters, Bennie Soukup and Adele Piscacek. Survivors include her sons, David Hegar, of Ross, and Albert Hegar; daughters, Pauline Skinner and her husband, Larry, of West, Nancy Marsh and her husband, Lynn, of Waco, and Martha Rezach and her husband, Tom, of Robinson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Olga Hegar, of West; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
