Comstock News Comstock, NE Thursday February 7, 1985 pg 1 Mrs. Mary E. Packard, 69 years of age, of Burwell, Nebraska died at her home northwest of Burwell on Monday February 4, 1985 Funeral services were held on Thursday February 7, 1985 at the First Christian Church in Burwell, Nebraska. The Rev. Earl Eills officiated. Burial was made in the Cottonwood Cem at Burwell with visitation Wednesday after 5 p.m. at Fleming Funeral Home in Burwell who had charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Packard was born at Sargent on January 15, 1916 the daughter of Clyde Roach and Alben Kurgel Roach. On April 20, 1934 she married to Woodward Packard at Broken Bow, Nebraska. They lived in the Comstock area for several years before moving here more than 40 years ago and to northwest of Burwell. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers Glen and Merl Roach. Survivors include her husband, one daughter Mrs. Louis (Patricia) Nietfeld of Wahoo, Nebraska, a son Fred Packard of Burwell, three grand children and also by three brothers Wayne Roach of Lincoln, Archie Roach of Caldwell, Idaho and Milo Roach of Minatare, Nebraska.
