Bio

Lorene Mikus, 92, of Taylor, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Taylor Care Center. Graveside Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Taylor City Cemetery. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at St. John Lutheran Church in Thrall with Pastor Jon Bielfeldt and Pastor Walter Miller officiating. Lorene was born on May 28, 1914, in Milam county to Julius and Elizabeth (Wollbruech) Becker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and Bennie were lifetime companions. Lorene worked at Yarings Department Store in the children's department for twenty five years and greatly enjoyed her customers. She also loved flowers and playing dominoes. She will be greatly missed. Lorene is survived by her husband of 71 years, Bennie Mikus of Taylor; a daughter, Joyce Ann Greinert of College Station; a son, Bennie Mikus, Jr. and wife, Linda of Terrell; one sister, Evelyn Sladek of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Rhonda Ehlert of Brenham, Ronald Greinert of Bryan, Randy Mikus of Marble Falls, and Kathy Mikus of Denton; and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 265, Thrall, Texas, 76578.
